University of Virginia Assistant Professor of Chemistry, AGF in Charlottesville, Virginia

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, invites applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor, General Faculty (teaching track) position in Organic Chemistry, in the 2024-2025 academic year. This is a one-year, tenure-ineligible appointment. The primary responsibilities involve instruction of large lecture courses in organic chemistry.

Preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience in organic chemistry and courses. The successful candidate is expected to teach three courses per semester or their equivalent. Start date for the position is August 25, 2024.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and includes 9-month salary with full-time benefits.

A Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field is required by appointment start date. At least one year of independent teaching experience and a commitment to teaching excellence is required.
